Gumroad Body Mechanics Rigs Mega Pack 11 By Joe Daniels Animschool Picker Maya 2014 Up New! -

The pack features eleven distinct rigs, each with unique proportions and mechanical requirements. From agile gymnasts to heavy-set powerhouses, animators can explore a wide variety of movement styles.

The included AnimSchool Picker itself has restrictions—it cannot be used with characters from competing online schools (like Animation Mentor)—but it is free for indie, professional, and commercial use.

: These rigs are intentionally minimalist, lacking complex facial controls to keep the animator's focus entirely on physical performance and "pantomime" shots.

Great for subtle everyday gestures, acting choices, and standard walks/runs. Why Focus Extensively on Body Mechanics?

Body mechanics is a crucial aspect of animation, involving the movement and interaction of characters with their environment. Creating realistic and believable body mechanics is essential for producing high-quality animations. However, setting up character rigs and animating body mechanics can be a time-consuming and challenging process. To address this challenge, Joe Daniels, an experienced animator and rigging expert, has developed the Gumroad Body Mechanics Rigs Mega Pack 11. The pack features eleven distinct rigs, each with

For those unfamiliar, the AnimSchool Picker is a free, standalone UI plugin developed by the online animation school, AnimSchool. It has been available since 2013 for Maya versions 2011 and up, and has continued to receive updates to support newer versions like Maya 2026. The tool is "tightly integrated into Maya," providing a graphical interface for selecting and controlling the complex controls of a rig.

As the name suggests, the Body Mechanics Mega Pack includes 12 distinct, stylized character rigs. These aren't just minor variations; each rig offers a unique body type and personality, providing a versatile toolkit for animators. While the pack's official roster includes characters like , each one is built on the same robust system, allowing for a consistent animation experience across all 12 models. A major highlight of the pack is its efficient file size, with the entire collection and its associated picker file taking up only about 100 MB of space. : These rigs are intentionally minimalist, lacking complex

When a character puts their hand on a table to lean, the elbow needs to lock but the shoulder can slide. Version 11 perfects "Elbow Pin" and "Sticky Feet" scripts. You can plant a foot on a moving platform (like a conveyor belt or bus), and the foot stays glued while the body moves over it.

For character animators, finding the perfect balance between artistic freedom and technical performance in a rig is a perpetual challenge. Many rigs are either too simplistic for complex physical stunts or so heavy that they reduce your viewport speed to a crawl.
